- Olivier Père, Director of ARTE France Cinéma -In today's Paris, an unattached thirty-something tries to rebuild her life through new encounters. This portrait of a young woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown was awarded the Caméra d'Or at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. For her first feature film, Léonor Séraille chooses the route of a new realism, as close as possible to her heroine. As a true co-author of the film, actress Laetitia Dosch delivers a breathtaking performance and takes on the character of Paula, as touching as she is vulnerable and lost.
Léonor Serraille
Léonor Serraille is a French screenwriter and director born in Lyon in 1986. After an MA in Comparative Literature at the University Sorbonne-Nouvelle in Paris, she attended La Fémis, the most preeminent film school in France, and obtained a degree with highest honours in screenwriting. MONTPARNASSE BIENVENUE (2017), her first feature film, was presented in Cannes where it won the Caméra d'Or.
I only realised once the film was out that I’d created a character who’s the total opposite of me, and the way I approach life and people. I’m a lot more introverted, so writing the film was a sort of liberation.
