When her mother dies and her father abandons her, a young woman with agoraphobia tries to conquer her fears by venturing outside. The director captures the protagonist’s varying physical states in a portrait of a modern anti-heroine, magnificently played by Barbara Giordano, and a hymn to femininity, rebellion and nonconformism.

With audacity and a reinvigorating dose of humour, Klaudia Reynicke’s film paints the portrait of an anti-heroine wrestling with her fears.
Klaudia Reynicke is a SwissPeruvian scriptwriter and director. Before devoting herself to film, she studied visual arts and sociology. Her encounter with Swiss director Jacqueline Veuve confirmed her desire to become a director herself. In 2010, she graduated with a Master’s degree from the École Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne (ECAL) and the Haute École d'Art et de Design (HEAD) in Geneva.
LOVE ME TENDER tells the story of a woman who lives on the fringes of the world and who suddenly finds herself catapulted out of her comfort zone, having to confront the outside world, instigating new challenges. Her story is that of a life journey, an existential quest, a passage that other people may make at one time or another in their lives.
