The ArteKino project offers free access to european internet users to view feature films subtitled in several european languages online.
The next edition of the ArteKino festival will be held from 1 December to 31 December 2019. Until that date, each month, with the ArteKino Film of the Month, a new european art-house film, contemporary or classic, is proposed for online viewing.
ArteKino Festival is an innovative event launched in 2016, aimed at cinephiles and film lovers from all around Europe, willing to discover a selection of some of the most original and stimulating recents european productions.
ArteKino Festival has been conceived as a completely free and digital operation. The dedicated website artekinofestival.com and the application ArteKino on iOS and ANDROID, developed in collaboration with FESTIVAL SCOPE, allow to get access to the 10 films selection in a dozen subtitled versions (French, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Polish , Romanian, Hungarian, Portuguese).
At the end of the film, the viewer can assign a score from 1 to 5 to each film. The Audience Award will then be awarded to the film with the highest score. This prize is divided between the film director and the international sales agent and should encourage a wider diffusion of the film on new territories.
The main goal of ArteKino Festival is to allow a large audience to get online access to independent feature films that often struggle for being screened in european theatres, despite critical recognition and awards obtained at the most prestigious international festivals.
ArteKino Festival presents each year, in December, ten films who represent the eclecticism and the daring of the new european film productions. In addition to the latest works directed by established filmmakers, we want to focus on new talents, with ambitious first feature films and films who confirm the importance of young authors. Far from any label, these films challenge the heritage of modernity, offer complex or linear storytelling, invent formal systems able to hosting stories from past or present world, intimate secrets and the forces of the imagination. Driven by a powerful romantic and poetic inspiration, these films coming from various cinematographic horizons reaffirm the vitality of contemporary european cinema, its perpetual renewal, its ability to surprise and move us.
The film of the month ArteKino, since January 2019, extends this innovative operation, proposing each month, from January to November, a new european art-house film, freely available online, subtitled in several european languages, for 30 or 31 days.
