1/ I can’t watch films

INSCRIPTION AND CONNECTION

To watch a film from the selection, first you must register to the service, then sign in. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by clicking on the button “Connection” (top-right of the website) and then “Forgot your password”.

FILM UNAVAILABLE OR SOLD OUT

A film may be unavailable in some countries due to the agreement with the rights holder. The banner “Unavailable” will inform you if the film is not available in your country.

When a film is sold out you won’t be able to watch it: it means that the number of tickets agreed by the rights holder are sold out. The banner “last tickets” will inform you that only 10% of the tickets are still available.

You can watch each film only once, but you can restart it at any time from where you left off during its dates of availability. Login with your details and access us from any device. If you want to re-watch a film, for example with friends, you can ask them to create their personal accounts and you will have access to more screenings.

SPECS

If you are logged in and the film is available however you encounter issues watching it, this is usually due to the following reasons:

  • your internet connection : please make sure your connection is stable.
  • your browser : please make sure your browser is up to date (Firefox 43 and+, Internet Explorer 11 and+, Chrome 48 and+, Safari 10 and+)
  • your Operating System : please make sure your Operating System is up to date. If you are using an old device, it might be unable to support the streaming of films. In case you are using an iMac or a MacBook Pro, the platform is compatible with OS 10.10 and+

We also recommend you refresh your page and clear your cache before you start the film.

2/ I can’t vote / modify my vote

Once you have watched the film, you can give it a vote from 1 to 5. Click on “Vote”,select your rating and then click "Vote" again. You can modify your vote by clicking again on “Vote” and attributing the new vote submitting it as you did before

3/ I can’t add the subtitles

Subtitles display by default in English. You can change the language by clicking on the second box at the bottom right corner of the player. The list of the available languages will display and you will be able to choose your language. You can also disable subtitles by clicking on “subtitles off”.

4/ I can’t watch films on a TV screen

ArteKino Festival is not compatible with Apple TV / Android TV / Amazon Fire TV devices yet. However, if you use Apple devices, you can use AirPlay to allow wireless streaming between devices (from your iPad or iPhone to your TV screen). The ArteKino iOS app is not compatible with Chromecast yet. We are currently working on the issue!

If you use Android, you can use Chromecast to allow wireless streaming between devices, from your smartphone or tablet to your TV screen. In this case you can use Chromecast through the ArteKino Android app or through Chrome.
